Did Suchana Seth made deliberate moves to get caught after murdering her 4 Years old son?
Suchana was too smart, and trained to find the anomalies,not to make glaring stupid mistakes, if she really wanted to escape and evade.
This is a follow up of yesterday article, which tried to dwell into "Why?" of the shocking murder of a 4 year old by his own mother at Candolim, Goa. While entire Goa, if not the entire India is still reeling under the shock and grief at the death of a toddler, media reports confirm yesterday's assertion that, familial discord pushed Suchana Seth to act so heinous.
Questions a galore still, but here let's get into another aspect of the tragedy : Did Suchana Seth made deliberate moves to get caught?
Media reports have been agog about her academic and professional accomplishments, also mentioned in yesterday article here.
A Data Scientist is not only used to figure out patterns, but also is trained to watch out the anomalies. A pre-meditated remorseless murder which this has been made to be, how come such callous actions committed during the course of this incident being unfolded by Suchana?
1. Leaving the blood stains unattended?
The blood stains found in the apartment in which she resided with her son were reportedly due to the self inflicted injury caused in order to end her own life, after the murder. She initially lied about it being her menstrual blood, weaving a contiguous pattern of lies, albeit deliberate.
If there was no remorse, then why she would act like this? But, let's get into it later sometime.
Murder took place 36 hours before the autopsy, which means she had enough time to take her own life, if she really wanted to. Usually, such an act is concluded right after the crime, when the heaviness of the gruesome act is most potent on the conscious and morality of the soul.
Let's say she tried, and failed; probably chickened out; though it is a very easy and straight forward act to do, considering the state of mind, in which she was then; why did not she cleaned the blood stains before leaving?
She had ample of time. Suchana is too smart and too learnt to be so foolish. Being a proponent and fan of fictional writing, also makes this too amiss.
2. Why would she request the Hotel administration to get her a Taxi for her onward travel to Bangalore?
Suchana had the opportunity to query on internet and find a cab for Bangalore. There are a lot of Taxi Operators available for it.
She could have booked a Taxi, left the hotel quietly; without the Hotel administration being suspicious of her.
She could have very well gone to another location in Goa and changed Taxi from there, if she really wanted to evade and escape. You don't have to be a Data Scientist to figure this, though she is a top notch one, in her domain.
Her job was to find unethical anomaly in AI algorithms, could she not have figured out anomaly in her own actions, if this was all pre-meditated?
3. Fake Fatorda address given to Goa Police?
When Calangute Police first made a call to her, she lied nonchalant and gave a fake address of Fatorda, telling her son was there.
Did she believe Goa Police to not check for the veracity of the address? This is like total absurd, let alone a person of her capabilities, but even an insane person.
The Taxi Driver has confirmed that she was all quite and calm during her journey, unlike someone who is trying to escape. Even after the first call from Goa Police, she would have done something, like requesting the Taxi Driver to take a detour or stop somewhere. She did not.
If she would have hired an anonymous taxi from outside the hotel and switched off her cellular phone it would have been difficult to trace and apprehend her early.
While we deliberate the above points, the most sensible question to ask is, if she really did not want to escape, why did not she quitely went to Calangute Police Station and confessed of her gruesome act?
Well, going by her profile, that would have been an act of surrender. Suchana have done anything but surrender in her life, among his tumultuous but highly accomplished life.
After topping the course in Physics from a usual college to going a top Institution at Harvard and being recognised as Top 100 women in world of the field of your choosing; it exemplify a life's journey of extreme grit and determination; sadly being punctuated by unfortunate incidents. She never surrendered, and did not do so last time also.
But yes, she was definitely also, not escaping and evading!
Being a topper Physicist and Data Scientist, trained to find the governing rules of nature and patterns in the scheme of things; she plotted her own very deliberate capture. At the end, she mader her own rule. Plotted her own pattern to get caught.
Suchana's stoic silence, while in custody; insisting on a lawyer before she agrees to speak and refusing also, lawyers sent by her friends; points all towards someone who never surrenders to circumstances and makes her own rules!
