"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" . The Clowns Assembly Session of Goa, from 16th January 2023.
Government don't want you to ask any question, Government obviously won't reply to any! GOA is OYO!, Oyo is Goa!
Goa is saddled with burning issues, and it's not only Mhadei, which has suddenly erupted as a volcano, and caught the local BJP led Government (which always is able to buy out MLAs from the opposition parties, offering them lucrative cabinet berths and of course money) and yet the Winter session of 2023 has been called for only 3 days, starting from 16th January.
After the formation of new assembly, 8 MLAs from Congress (which meant, the people of those constituency, voted against the ruling BJP party) defected to ruling BJP.
These MLAs were selected to represent the people's voice and get their concerns addressed by the constituents of their respective assembly, instead they betrayed the trust of their voters.
Now, with majority of the MLAs in their pocket, the BJP led Goa Government, led by Chief Minister (or Chief Moneyster) Pramod Sawant, went draconian and restricted the upcoming assembly session to effectively only 3 days, just enough for the government to get it's legislative business done, but hardly enough, if any, for people's voices and concerns to be heard.
Apart from Mhadei Issue, the other burning issue, which people of Goa has been fighting for includes :
a) Major Ports Act.
b) Railway Double tracking.
c) Tamnar power line through Mollem forests.
d) Mopa link road, through Cashew fields.
e) Illegal land grabbing by outsiders.
f) Flouting of CRZ rules blatantly.
g) Absolute corruption in Goa Police Department.
h) Water scarcity.
i) Illegal sand dredging rampant across state.
j) Coal transmission and logistics through town.
k) Garbage floating everywhere, in the state.
l) Effective and robust electric power supplies issues.
m) Last mile connectivity issues, due to Taxi driver hooliganism.
n) Establishment of IIT-Goa.
o) Employment of Goans (CM made grand promises, before the last election).
the list would be very long if we add scores of local issues, of which the concerned MLAs have been made aware, but since they are party-by-proxy in those matters, they don't care.
But people in Goa, have been robbed of their voices by the ruling BJP led government, by making a mockery of democracy, by having the assembly session for merely 3 days.
"Shoot & Scoot and don't listen", that's the mantra of Pramod Sawant led BJP led government in Goa.
Utter dis-regard for people's voices, and utter dis-regard for democracy process, what could be more blatant than even restricting sitting MLAs from accessing information from last 5 Years, through legislative questions?
TRY THE LINK. THIS IS, BHARTIYA JANTA PARTY OF GOA, LED BY PRAMOD
SAWANT.
It's not the MLAs who are being smothered of their voices, it's the common people of Goa.
And as expected, none of the ruling party members are objecting to "3 Day Fete of Goa Assembly", even excluding who took money and defected, as their constituents suffer, wail in pain, but to no avail.
And now, as the Mhadei issue as exploded, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, suddenly wants unity among all the MLAs of Goa Assembly, urging the Opposition Members to be united with Government. Like seriously?
When the Government has to listen and act on people's voices, there is effectively no opposition (that's why MLAs are traded by Pramod Sawant); but when it's time to save face by utter failure of leadership on Mhadei Water diversion issue, he is begging the Opposition MLAs to stand unite with the government?
Suddenly, Opposition is there and it matters also?
Beyond all means, very hilarious!
