"Enemy Of The State" : Abhishek Verma of Uttarakhand assaults Dutch woman tourist in Goa.
Manali-Goa-Manali Gang has has destroyed the name of Goa.
When people like Abhishek Verma of Dehradun, Uttarakhand come to Goa, looking for livelihood, they have no affinity towards the state,no sentiments towards the culture and people of Goa. And above all, about the honour and welfare of the state.
These people are "ENEMY OF THE STATE OF GOA".
Almost the entire work-force in Tourism sector of Goa is dominated by North Indians. Specifically, people from North India. The so called Manali-Goa-Manali gang. They come here for 6 months,and then go back to their home in the hilly state to run business there.
For these people, Goa is almost nothing more than 6 months long party to earn a mini fortune selling drugs, fueled with alcohol and psychotropic substances. And the biggest lure,to be in proximity of foreigner woman.
Every Tuesday, as the season starts, the train from Chandigarh brings hundreds of them; descending at Pernem, Thivim and Madgaon. Most of them are bringing contraband substances, well hidden in their belongings; Hash and Marijuana, which is abundantly and cheaply available in their places.
Their primary objective is to sell the contraband as fast as possible, to all kind of tourists. Most of them, get a second supply as well. For the good ones at selling, there could be also a third run. The amount of money, which they make from selling the drugs is hugely enormous compared to what they make while working at shacks and hotels.
Walk across through any popular beach shack of Goa, and these Manali-Goa-Manali gang lads would be found accosting any foreign woman, who is not with a male friend.Very persistently.Out of courtesy,the women talk. Some are able of fend of these hounds, but sometimes the hound succeed, because they have the most potent lure in Goa, the promise of a party, lit up with psychotropic substances.
As today's reports in Herald points, that the number of foreigner tourist coming over to Goa has reduced drastically. Once a paradise for backpacker solo travelers, these pests are the one to blame for the decline, due to tarnished reputation of Goa.They are everywhere.Hotels, Shacks, Bars and Parties.
Why would a foreigner come over to Goa, when she is constantly haggled and hounded?
Because they come over in groups,Manali-Goa-Manali gangs are bold. Also, their employer, who is also from their same home-town shields them, as he is also interested in selling the contraband from the shacks and hotels.
With numbers on their side, they get bolder and bolder, as the day passes; mostly due to favour done through drugs brought with them.
What results,is the recent incidents with the Russian and Dutch woman in March.
Most of the shacks run by North Indians from Himachal, Uttarakhand and elsewhere are just a front for selling drugs. Their entire business is to sell drugs under the garb of operating a shack. Also, for that matter, the Shack is illegal too.
All these guys have zero empathy and zero attachment with the state of Goa. Due to their actions, Goa gets a bad name, and it affects the biggest industry of Goa, Tourism.
It's about time for Goans, who facilitate these "Enemy Of The State" to run business here be vigilant and mindful of their conduct.
Destroying beaches, Polluting water, Cutting Hills and trees,Touting tourists for the business back home, Hounding and assaulting tourists; they have no love for Goa.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Not for Goa-Manali-Goa gang but.
If they have no love for Goa, should they be even allowed to come and go freely; while playing with the honour the state?
There should be a rule that migrants would not be allowed employment, unless they have a character certificate from their local Police Station.Every single of them should be frisked thoroughly while entering in the state.
