There were no "usual suspects" for Goa Police during investigation of Felix Dahl murder.
The prime accused, Lenslood Fernandes, resident of Agonda, had a violent and criminal background; yet Police blatantly ignored them, and did not make him a suspect.
While Goa is known for it's beautiful beaches and (usually) nice people, like at all other famous tourist places in the world, there are Monsters lurking here. And these monsters are both the Goan aboriginals and other Indians who come here, in search of quick money, while having some fun.
International tourists are easy target for such monsters, because of their mild and polite nature; and also because, they do not have any clue to the past of monsters trying to lure them.
Due to their inherent gullibility, by being in a foreign country, a couple of sweet words, could make them inherently vulnerable.
Dozen of cases, time and again, have proved that sometimes, very elaborate plots are hatched to fleece international tourists of their money and valuables, under the pretext of providing a "nice, easy and fun life" in Goa or up in mountains, north of country.
Tourists who are already in awe of the place, and easy going life here, eventually fall in their trap.
While the tourists might be unaware of the past of those laying traps, surely Police knows. At least in the case of locals. They know the inherent character of such rogue elements, their past mis-deeds, along with the criminal record(s).
So, usually, when an unnatural death occurs, it is elementary, that Police should first cast doubt on these "Usual Suspects".While it may happen that, sometimes, the "Usual Suspects" might not be involved themselves; but could provide crucial information, by the inheritance of the company they keep or kept.
In the case of Felix Dahl murder, the prime accused according to Ms.Sana Cutter (Aunt of Felix) Lenslood Fernandes of Agonda had a huge rowdy past, not only of harassing the locals of Canacona, but other government officials and in fact, Policemen also.
It is so bewildering that, Lenslood was the person who identified Felix at mortuary.
Goa Police has no clue, as to how, Lenslood Fernandes of Agonda, came to know of the death of Felix?
In spite of being seen with Felix on the night of crime, and his past criminal background; Canacona Police (IO) took all his statements on the face value, rather than making him a prime suspect.
Lenslood Fernandes has various cases lodged against him of threatening, intimidating and assault; yet that did not make him a "usual suspect", which prima facie means the Investigation Officer (IO) was hand-in-gloves with Lenslood and was trying to shield him.
Once you commit a crime, or a party to the crime, but reach to Police first and pretend of helping them; it helps you a lot in not being among the"usual suspect".
The IO and Goa Police did not even apply common-sense that, how can a person of such criminal background, has turned around all of a sudden in his behaviour?
This is not possible, unless Goa Police and Canacona IO was trying to shield the accused; and deliberately make it look like, he came forth on his own, in a surprising twist of circumstance,to help the Police.
While the prime accused in Felix Dahl murder case, Lenslood Fernandes of Agonda is roaming free and probably with more nefarious and criminal plans; the then IO of Canacona Police, now heads the Anjuna Police Station in North Goa.
