"Injustice" should be the face of Goa, in Lok Sabha Polls 2024.
"Polity" can be restored in Goa Politics, only when Goans will choose someone from among themselves, who has suffered similar injustice from establishment.
Goans are fuming with anger everywhere. Be it the projects illegally sanctioned by Panchayats, at the behest of builder lobbies, clandestinely supported by other elected representatives; or the forced "highway" and "double-tracking" railway project,.Be it the conversion of Forest lands through amendments by TCP(Town and Country Planning Department).
Goans are out on the roads and streets everyday, pledging that they had rather die protecting their land and forests;than accept an authoritarian regimes diktats.
The apathy of the situation is that, none of the elected representatives, who always tom-tom about India being the largest democracy in the world, are found to be seen standing with the same women and men,who propelled them to power.
The so called "People's Representatives" are supposed to represent people's interests and safeguard them;but in Goa the tides have turned to such extent that, instead of representing the interests of "People" these so called "Representatives" are working for the interests of crony capitalists, close the power corridors of the ruling party. And thus, making an absolute mockery of the entire democratic process.
With no one from "Member of Parliaments" to Chief Minister and MLAs standing with those fighting for Justice;their homes and land; it is about time to "Change The Game".
These worthless representatives should be let known that they are now proclaimed as "Out Of Order".If elected representatives fail to protect the interests of their electorate, what purpose do they serve? They forfeit their rank and position immediately.
Now comes the question, what could be done about it? How to choose better representatives, who do not betray their own electorate?
Politics in Goa is a laughing stock; where there is no polity;and only money rules. Dinosaur era Politicians not willing to pave the way for younger and committed candidates; they rise like Phoenix before every elections at the altar of false promises rocketed by money power. And once elected, everything comes back to square one .And this phenomena transcends all boundaries Panchayats, State Assembly to the Parliament.
It is time to make "Injustice" the face of future political campaign, notably the coming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections in India. When Injustice has been ruling everywhere, what could be a better face for the electorate to choose? After all, someone who has suffered grave injustice from those in power and the establishment can have the sympathy and benevolence to understand the pain and anguish of those who have been fighting for justice.
It's been 3 Weeks since, the ill-fated evening of 6th August 2023; when at Banstarim, a speeding Mercedes driven under the arrogance of power, fuelled by alcohol carried in PET bottles murdered the parents of Goa Police Constable Mr.Phadte.The Director General of Police assured the grieving Constable that "fair and professional" investigation would be done. What happens next, and what has been the conduct of Goa Police under the influence of those in power can be found out simply by querying "Banastarim Accident".
It's all out there for everyone to see, whether Justice was done or not? Whether Goa Police was able to fight tooth and nail for the Justice of one of their own? NO.
While the fire has been burning all across villages of Goa; Constable Phadte is perhaps a single individual whose face stands for the gross injustice;and everything that is wrong in Goa's power establishment. If anyone who is capable of understanding the suffering of common people of Goa, it's him.
Hence, it is utmost important that persons who have suffered the gross injustice at the hands of establishment in Goa are made candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Let people decide whom they want as their new "representatives", those who have themselves suffered the injustice and hence can comprehend their plight and help them; or those who have no clue of their suffering and have been found always AWOL; except the election and inauguration time.
With just about 6 months left for 2024 Elections, the divisive power at the behest of those in power, are hell bent on dividing the people of Goa on the basis of religion and ethnicity.
Ironically, Justice is the one unifying force, which does not know, any division whatsoever.
All across Goa,Goans of all religions, caste and creed are suffering at the hands of ruling establishment. When Justice is the unifying force; it's time that "Injustice" be the face of Lok Sabha elections.
The only way that ordinary common Goan can ensure that there is no further injustice is done by the ruling establishment is NOT to select "CrorePati" businessmen, whose sole motive to come to power is to earn more money for themselves, come whichever way.
The only way that ordinary common Goans can safeguard their interests, their land and forests, is to elect someone who is the one amongst from them; who has suffered the injustice. That's the only person who can stand with them, unlike present tyrannical and authoritarian "representatives".
If the "Opposition" political parties are really serious for fighting against injustice done to common ordinary Goans; they should come together and united field candidates like Constable Phadte in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections; who are the face of "Injustice".
Let the ordinary Goans decide, whom they want as their leader, "Crorepati" businessmen or someone who has suffered the same fate, as themselves, and can stand with them, to protect their rights and shall fight for their Justice.
Constable Phadte is an ideal candidate for "North Goa" parliamentary constituency; and there would be one deserving candidate from South Goa as well.
It is about time that "Polity" is brought into Politics of Goa. Those siding with crony capitalists should be shown the door. Those who have seen the pain and anguish and the apathy of Government of Goa, should be the people's representatives; those who can bridge the burgeoning divide of "Haves" and "HaveNots".
