The Hoax Bomb (IED) Email Sent To Goa Police DGP Office : A Cursory Analysis
Someone searched for the most potent & powerful IED (also highly dangerous to operate) ever used and sent an Email at 0909 Hrs to DGP Office yesterday.
The DGP Office of Goa Police received an Email yesterday morning at 0909 hrs, mentioning “IEDs” threat to Goa Police HQ and DGP Office. This is a cursory analysis of the incident. Had the purported Hoax Email would not have been sent at 0909 hrs; this post was not even warranted.
First of all, not even a die-hard lunatic would try to use a Peroxide based IED in this state. That too, in this weather. Someone was just trying to sound sophisticated, in order to lend credibility to the Hoax.
Also, Peroxide based IEDs are very hard to detect; and someone probably knew the limitations of Goa Police’s EOD (Explosives & Ordanance Disposal) and Bomb (Detection) Squad.
A cursory search query reveals that last instance of Peroxide based IEDs being used anywhere in the world was in 2015. With whatever news available online. And all of them were used by “Suicide Bombers”.
Also, The Sent Email is so hilarious. It mentions "IEDs" which means there were supposed to be multiple IED rigged, that too at #GoaPolice HQs ? Also, advising what to do 🤣🤣
Usually, Such Bombings are not "advertised" in advance; but "responsibility claimed" after the damage has been done.
Let's say, even if it is "advertised" for bragging rights; you detonate immediately after sending the “threat” to cause maximum impact; not giving the adversary the time to act.
The Email says that the IED would be detonated before 3 PM or 1500 Hrs.
Peroxide based IEDs have been used world-over only in "Fidayeen" attacks or Suicide Bombings; because most other forms of "Detonation" are unreliable in such cases; Thermal, Chemical and Mechanical.
Even "Electrical" detonation is highly unreliable; because Peroxides are themselves so highly unstable.
Specially, in the weather of Goa . One can't predict the detonation, unless and until it is done personally; and even then you can't predict timing. So, how could the Email sender predict the approximate timing? Usually, one would not mention the Timing, to cause more panic and dizzy.
Now, let's say, the entire purpose of sending the Hoax Email was to disrupt a day's of Working of GoaPolice HQs and just create nuisance; TODAY would have been an Ideal Day when entire Goa is celebrating GudiPadwa , but very conveniently the Email was sent yesterday? 🤣
By All Means, Today would have been the best day to create nuisance in Goa, if it was so desired, of the sender . It foxes my mind, why it was done yesterday?
The twist to the tale is that the Hoax-Email was also sent to an English Newspaper of Goa; as reported. But, it has not been reported which is this newspaper?
The most Funny part of the entire charade was that, there were Policemen wearing Safari Suits searching for the elusive (IED) and there was no one in “Bomb Suit” prepared for an eventuality to work and dispose it immediately, when found.
There are gazillion types of IEDs which could be built; which are cheap, easy to make and deliver, potent, stable, easy to rig and easy to detonate and still very dangerous. There has not been a single case of Peroxide based IED being used in India, so far.
If you have seen the image at the top of this article, you would have immediately came to conclusion, this Email was HOAX on Arrival. If you see, what I see; please comment.
Prima Facie, Yesterday's Hoax IED Bomb Email sent to DGP GoaPolice HQs seems to be an INSIDER JOB. Someone, who is merrily celebrating GudiPadwa today !But, what would be the motive or reason, one can only try to guess; but can be easily speculated.
But, it would be a good time to prohibit all Civilian Vehicles inside Goa Police Headquarters, including those of Government Officials, however high and mighty. MLAs and Ministers of Government of Goa.
And of the Rs.46 Crores allocated for redevelopment of Goa Police HQ in this Year’s budget; ETD (Explosive Trace Detectors) and CT (Computed Tomography) machines be bought. It is hoped that since Goa is a highly progressive and development oriented state, the State PHQ would already have X-Ray Baggage Screening Machines.
