The hubris of Pravin Arlekar (MLA Pernem) : 1st time MLA, vying for Cabinet post, through back-hand deal.

8th Standard pass, 5 questions asked in assembly, in 1 year. Pednekars anguished for several reasons, but Arlekar still hopeful of being a minister, rather Moneyster.

Pravin Arlekar, the MLA from Pernem Constituency (Constituency No.2) is in news today. A conman Neeraj Singh Rathod targeted, the most gullible MLA, promising him a Cabinet birth, in the forthcoming reshuffle of the cabinet of the State of Goa.

Considering the fact that, this is not a Police Inspector recruitment or a Junior Engineer appointment; though being cited that money transacted was in Lac, it must be few Crores easily.

The conman Rathod from Ahmedabad, also targeted 4 MLAs from Maharashtra, namely :

a) Vilas Kumbhare (Central Nagpur)

b) Tekchand Savarkar (Kamptee)

c) Tanaji Mutkule (Hngoli)

d) Narayan Kuche (Badnapur)

and the lone guy from Nagaland, Basha Mowachang.

Notably, 8th Standard Pass, Pravin Arlekar is a first-time MLA.

He jumped the ship from MGP or whatever you want to call it more honorably; shifted his resident from Guirim to Pernem and joined BJP, despite being promised a MLA ticket, by his former party MGP.

Pednekars have been crying for water.

They have been anguished at the deal meted out by the state Government on the MOPA Airport deal.

There has been an ongoing agitation by local people of Pernem, regarding a separate Taxi Counter at new airport, for Pednekars operating Taxi.

It's very funny that, how a first time MLA, who has nothing to prove against his name, with burgeoning problems in his constituency, and citizens clearly anguished, could even dream of joining the state cabinet? There is only one word for it, and that's HUBRIS.

HUBRIS knows no caste, or religion, sex, economic status or lack of it, educated or 8th standard pass.Widely available in all forms.

Recently, MLA Pravin Arlekar was snubbed by PWD Minister in a public meeting held at Pernem, regarding water woes, because he did not know the mobile number of Dy.Collector responsible for his constituency.

By all means, it is possible that conman, saw the video or read about it, while doing his reccee, and decided to target Pravin Arlekar; after alll, someone who does not have the Dy.Collector's mobile number available with him, after 1 year being a MLA (who is supposed to dwell and resolve the woes of his constituency), would have no clue about who is the PA of BJP Chief JP Nadda; and would be dumb enough for sure, not to even make a query regarding it.

Looking at the Legislative performance of Arlekar, he has so far managed to ask 5 questions in the assembly.That's it. Though he is member committe on "Government Assurances" and "Public Undertakings", it's anybody's guess what a 8th Standard pass person can contribute there.

But still, HUBRIS knows no bound, and he desired to be a Cabinet Minister; probably riding on Quixotic horse, that he has a chance after all,because of belonging to backward community.

Now that, he has lost money and now unreachable, he is probably mulling over, how he made himself a laughing stock, while losing a very considerable sum of money.

Since, he belongs to the ruling government, there would not be any investigation ordered, either by the Speaker of the assembly or the State Government, that how the money was transacted; probably it would come out in the Police investigation, but by all means, it would be hushed up. But, for Pravin, if he has to have any hopes of recovering the money, he would have to show the trail of money changing hands.

Goa and it's politicians are famous for defection.The only ideology which they know is of money, thrashing away the mandate of the electorate to bin. Being brazenly unashamed, it takes a conman to bring them to knees.

While once bitten, twice shy is the general rule; but there should be few more people like Neeraj Singh Rathod, to give Politicians like Pravin Arlekar, a taste of their own medicine.Defecting, for the lure of money and power, is after all cheating towards the electorate. (Section 420, IPC).
