"Toothless In Action" and "Only Verbose" : The Tourism Minister of Goa, Mr. Rohan Khaunte.
Rohan Khaunte has not embarassed the citizens of Goa, but the Prime Minister Of India, Shri Narendra Modi himself.
In a highly irresponsible statement Tourism Minister of Goa,Mr.Rohan Khaunte, the mobility & transport related issues at Mopa International Airport as "teething problems" and shammed the citizens of posting the exorbitant taxi fares receipts online.
In a country like India, and more so in Goa, ministers can escape with impunity, even after making any irresponsible statement.
If you ask a Standard 6th student, what should be the main criteria of a hallmark greenfield International Airport, she would say, accessibility & mobility.
And, accessibility does not mean, merely building connecting roads, it means, that there are ends to the means, which in this case, a robust transportation system available for the tourists, who chose to descend at the new airport on the (false)promises of the Tourism Minister & Chief Minister Of Goa.
The MOPA International Airport was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 11th December 2022. The first flight landed on 5th January 2023; for an accountable person(s),this is enough of time warranted, not to embarrass the highest office of the country.
A sane and prudent (chief)minister would ensure not only out of accountability, but for the sake of professionalism also, that such a prestigious project inaugurated by the PM himself, which has been touted and lauded as the greatest achievement of present BJP Government of Goa, would not have any so called "teething problems" even before the inauguration.
While, there is no doubt, the present BJP Government of Goa, lacks any accountability towards the people of Goa, it lacks accountability to even the Prime Minister of India; else how they would have dared to have let any so called "teething problems" remain?
How can a Minister of State Government can term the fair accessibility to a newly inaugurated International Airport as "teething problem"?
Calling base fair price of Rs.49/Km issued by a meter installed by Goa Electronic Corporation as "teething problem"? Who authorised the base fair price at such exorbitant rate? Or, anyone can charge, any amount as they deem fit from the tourists?
Lack of proper, ample and affordable means of transportation from a new international airport is not a "teething problem Mr.Rohan Khaunte; it is perhaps 1 of the foremost problem to be solved, ask a 6th grade student.
"Toothless In Action" and "only verbose", The Tourism Minister of Goa, Mr.Rohan Khaunte has least of all embarrassed the Prime Minister Of India himself, let alone the people of Goa.
