Vikat Bhagat, the rapist and murderer of Danielle McLaughlin brazenly assaulted Police Escort.
Colvale Central Jail officials of Goa Police, in cahoots with the accused.
Primarily, an accused in a brutal rape and murder trial would always try to have a good behaviour towards law-enforcement officers during the trial, which could bring him some sort of leniency in the future.

Vikat has maintained that he is innocent, from the beginning and apparently, wrote a 29 page letter (contents of which are not known) to support his plea.
An innocent guy would not try to stall the proceedings of the trial, by all means possible. He shall try to clear his name as soon as possible, after all, he would also want the justice to be done. Instead, the accused refused to even resisted to produce himself via video-conferencing, which lead to further delay in trial.
Vikat Bhagat, as per the official records, assaulted the official Police escort; while he was in transit from the Colvale Jail premises to the Court. An innocent person, would never even dream of doing this.
Only a brazen and very violent criminal, with no regards to law of land or to those officers, who try to uphold it, can conceive doing this.
With many criminal antecedents to his name, prior to the 14th March 2017 incident and his behaviour during the trial, it is not too lofty to conclude that, Vikat Bhagat cold-bloodedly and brutally raped an innocent girl and then murdered her; because by all means, he thought that he would also go scot free, like the killer of Finnish citizen Felix Dahl.
The Jailor of Colvale Central Jail, beyond any doubt seems to be in cahoot with the accused and helping him in sorts of manner, like not being able to produce him to Court on flimsy excuses; not filing relies to the accused application in court.Supporting him in all means to prolong the trial.
The conduct so far of Vikat Bhagat during the trial, is of a hard-nosed and very violentcriminal, who believes, he can get away with anything, exploiting money power and legal loopholes.
A speedy and just trial, without further any delays, would ensure that, such violent criminals are brought to justice, and made to pay, for their sins.
