Why there was no National Outrage for those Murdered in Banastarim Accident at Goa, 10 Months back?
One Crore of Indian Tourists arrive to have "Fun" and "Enjoy" at Goa every year; they all love Goa, but still the kind of outrage seen for Pune accident, was MISSING for Banastarim Accident victims!

It would be 10 months on 6th of June 2024, since the Banastarim Accident happened, wherein 3 People were murdered and 6 Injured (Injured is a hilarious word, in fact they were maimed and still struggling).
While Banastarim Accident received wide scale media coverage in Goan Media and entire state was outraged; the kind of attention and outrage which Pune Kalyani Nagar accident garnered , was absent.
The driver involved in the Banastarim Accident was a major, a builder known to mighty people of Goa, habitual offender of speed driving and was driving under the influence of alcohol, with alcohol found in the car itself.
For that matter, who was driving the vehicle is still a question mark, even though the eyewitness saw a woman coming out of driver seat.
Though the investigation is reported to have been completed, the Chargesheet is still pending , with forensics report not yet been received from Central Laboratory.
Please do not ask, why there has been such an inordinate delay in receiving the report? It is anyone's guess.
While the details of the accident are still fresh in mind of most of the people, for those who want to refresh, can query (Herald Goa + Banastarim Accident).
What we are contemplating here is that, why the terrible murder did not receive the kind of attention,it should have had amongst the diaspora of this country?
The fact of matter is, persons who have not visited their own State Capital; let alone New Delhi; have been to Goa.
Most of them coming at least once annually. 80 to 100 Million Indian Tourist arrive at various beaches of Goa, and even then the cries of the family and friends of the victims got subdued among those, who proclaim their love for Goa through reels and stories.
Probably, it would have been mentioned as minor news report in National publication and people would have thought; Oh Yeah, Goa !
The question which we are here grappling with is that, with almost 1 Crore Tourists coming to Goa, every year, why the same empathy and disgust was not displayed for the Banastarim Murders?
The Murders were more ghastly of Banastarim as compared to Kalyani Nagar, Pune; the Driver was a Major, high and drunk on riches and Political connections, had no remorse. (Repeating)
The statement of the wife or Meghna Savardekar should have been enough to charge her, post the murder; but now it is forgotten.
“In an accident, one has to die, another has to survive, it is just an accident"
That's what she uttered after getting out of the car, according to Eyewitnesses.
Her statement, never captured the attention of Social Media or National Medi”
Her statement, never captured the attention of Social Media or National Media, despite being extremely filthy and derogatory to those Murdered.
Why for rest of India, it did not matter when, 5 families were destroyed and 3 lives were lost, when a filthy rich drunk builder, knowing what was at stake, still did not, because she/he (they) never bothered about the law?
Do rest of the India has any apathy towards Goa or aboriginal Goans? This is the question we should ask everyone in Goa.
For rest of India, Goa is all about debauchery. Whatever they cannot do it in their home town; they come here for.
Drugs, Alcohol, Chemicals, Threesome, Foursome, Orgy; "Goa mein sab chalta hai!"
If there could be another similar place, where they could conduct themselves such immoral (and their conduct could be seen in beaches and roads); they would stop coming to Goa and would go flocking elsewhere.
For a regular Indian, Goa is an Open and Shut "FUN" destination.
You come here, you have fun, go back and forget at all about Goa and it's inhabitants. When it's over(vacation), it's all over.
The realms of National Media and Social Media has not changed much in last 10 months. But still, Banastarim Accident victims were an Orphan at both places.
WHY?
That's a very big question, every Goan should ask.
In today's world, if I am visiting a place, once a year, out of fondness and love of it; I shall keeps track of what's happening there, good or bad and how can I within the limited means, see that there is less of Bad and more of Good?
But it never happens for those proclaiming love for Goa, elsewhere from India!
The number of Reels and Insta stories on "Fun" destination and "party" and photographs on Goa, never abated during August 2023; but how many posts on Social Media were made on Banastarim Accident and how many Candle Marches and Placard protests were made, across the country for those 3 Murdered?
Well, your guess is as good as mine.
The Murderers paid Rs.2 Crores compensation (bribe) to the victims , including those injured under the Court directive and no chargesheet has been filed yet?
Transport Department of Goa, suspended the Driving Licence of Paresh Savardekar for just 3 Months? Akin to writing a “300 Word Essay” sentence by JJB to Vedant Agarwal. No, National coverage and outrage?
What is the value of the life of a common man in Goa? Or does it even matter, for the Indians coming over here to “Enjoy” and “Fun”?
Vasudev Kutumbakam, huh!
It's Goa after all. "Goa mein Sab Chalta Hai!"
